Today, we travel south across the Middle Atlas Mountains. We pass through large cedar forests, where Barbary macaques often appear, and then cross wide-open plains. After a short stop in Midelt, we reach the Ziz Valley, filled with green palm trees in the dry landscape. In Merzouga, camels will take you across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi to watch the sunset and spend the night at a traditional/luxury Berber camp.
Wake up to the quiet and beauty of the Sahara. Today is all about experiencing the desert. You’ll visit a green oasis, meet local Berber nomads, and go to the village of Khamlia to hear the lively sounds of Gnaoua music.
