Your journey starts with a hotel pickup in Fes. You’ll travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane, often called “Little Switzerland,” and the cedar forests of Azrou, where you might see wild monkeys. Driving on through the Ziz Valley, you’ll pass palm trees and small mud-brick villages before arriving in Merzouga. From here, you’ll ride camels into the Erg Chebbi dunes to watch the sunset. The night will be spent in a desert camp, with a Moroccan dinner and Berber music under the stars.
Wake up early to watch the desert sunrise and enjoy breakfast. Travel on to Rissani, a historic market town, then continue to the Todgha Gorge, where high cliffs rise above a narrow valley. Spend some time walking around before heading to the Dades Valley, famous for its strange rock shapes and green fields. Tonight, stay in a small local guesthouse.
