Your 8-day adventure kicks off from Marrakech after breakfast. We’ll immediately begin our ascent into the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the stunning Tizi n’Tichka pass, where breathtaking panoramic views unfold at every turn. Our journey leads us to the legendary Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified ksar and UNESCO World Heritage site. After exploring this ancient village, we’ll pause for lunch. We then continue to Ouarzazate, “Africa’s cinematic capital,” with an optional visit to its renowned film studios. Our day concludes amidst the dramatic landscapes of Boumalne Dades, where we’ll settle in for the night.
After breakfast, our journey continues towards the magnificent Sahara. The route takes us through a landscape rich with traditional villages and lush palm groves, leading us to the Todra Gorges. Here, you’ll have the chance to walk between the immense, sheer cliffs of this spectacular canyon. After a lunch break, we travel through Erfoud, the gateway to the desert, arriving in Merzouga in the afternoon.
In the afternoon, you will embark on an unforgettable camel trek into the stunning Erg Chebbi dunes. You’ll pause to witness a spectacular sunset from a high dune before reaching your desert camp for a magical evening of Berber hospitality, traditional music, and stargazing under the vast desert sky.
Awake early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the golden dunes. Following breakfast at the camp, we begin our journey towards Fes. Our drive follows the remarkable Ziz Valley, a vast oasis where we’ll stop at a panoramic viewpoint to admire the sea of palm trees below. We’ll proceed to Midelt, a town known for its apple orchards, for a lunch break.
Afterwards, we venture into the great cedar forests of Azrou to meet the playful Barbary macaque monkeys that inhabit this area. Our final stop is the pristine town of Ifrane, often called ‘Little Switzerland,’ before arriving in Fes, Morocco’s historic spiritual heart.
From the cultural capital of Fes, our journey takes us north to the enchanting “Blue City” of Chefchaouen. The drive winds through the rugged beauty of the Rif Mountains, offering spectacular landscapes. Upon arrival in the afternoon, you will check into your riad. The remainder of the day is yours to wander at your leisure, getting lost in its enchanting, blue-washed streets and alleyways.
After a relaxed breakfast, we depart from Chefchaouen and travel through the Rif Mountains to the strategic port city of Tangier. We’ll make a stop in Tetouan, known as the “White Dove,” to admire its unique Hispano-Moorish architecture. We then continue to Tangier, the historic gateway between Africa and Europe. After checking into your hotel, you will have the afternoon free to discover this bustling, multicultural city.
After breakfast, we travel south along the scenic Atlantic coast to the charming seaside town of Asilah. This creative hub is renowned for its well-preserved, white-washed medina, where vibrant murals decorate the walls. You’ll have ample time to explore its historic ramparts and soak in the artistic atmosphere. After lunch at a local restaurant, you’ll check into your accommodation, leaving you free to enjoy a relaxing afternoon exploring the town.
Following breakfast, our journey down the coast continues to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Upon arrival in the city where the Bouregreg River meets the Atlantic, we will explore its most important landmarks. We’ll visit the iconic Hassan Tower and the elegant Mausoleum of Mohammed V, both stunning testaments to Morocco’s rich architectural heritage. Afterwards, we will check into our hotel, giving you the evening to relax.
On the final morning of our tour, we take the short drive down the coast to Casablanca, Morocco’s vibrant economic hub. The centerpiece of our visit is the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest and most beautiful mosques in the world, dramatically poised over the Atlantic. You will have time to admire its breathtaking scale and intricate details. Following this awe-inspiring visit, your 8-day journey concludes. We will ensure a smooth transfer to your Casablanca hotel or the airport, marking the end of your Moroccan adventure.
